So....

So, I'm looking at my own blog & I notice that my posts usually start with the word "SO".
Like I wonder where I got that from. (Angie)
Perhaps I should take a vocabulary lesson.
Sorry guys....

Outside the Hello Kitty Store

On our day off we went to have a look at the Kitty-Chan store. Here are the girls & their lollipops.

Carole's Fashion

Carole found these eyelashes at the "Claire's" accesory store sale.

She looks like some sort of forest fairy. She has taken interest in make up & has quite a collection already.

Beautiful Girls

Strawberry Short Cake

So we tried our hand at making this American classic: strawberry short cake. Needless to say this dessert will be a family favorite from now on. It is especially appealing to me because of the quick/easy preparation factor.

It's tastes as simple as it is, but it's not boring. The recipe I got from a cookbook by the sexy Rocco Despirito. Will update with recipe later.

infatuation

So, our neighbor has this sakura tree that I am just in love with. I have never seen such beautiful cherry blossom flowers in my life. Look at that rich pink & how the colors just fade into eachother.
Even though the neighbors house is not beautiful to look at & there are telephone wires everywhere, I still want to take photos of these flowers.

Is Spring Really Here?

So the last 2 days have been beautiful & we've been enjoying this spring-like weather. We've gone for some fun picnics & trips to the park. Mac's been gone for days so once again I am photoless but this shot from the ol' cell will have to do.

The Said Pie (updated with recipe link)

Here's the recipe: I'm embarrassed to say it is so easy. Please cut down the sugar, & it only fills one crust not TWO. I used american strawberry jello mix. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Fresh-Strawberry-Pie-I/Detail.aspx Rather rustic looking but very fresh & not too decadent even for a birthday breakfast. The strawberries are not cooked at all, so basically it is like a fruit jelly in a crust, but not too jello-y. We put whipped cream on top.

There's something beautiful about Cherry & Plum blossoms

Cherry

Hinamatsuri

Japanese snacks sure are pretty & delicate looking-- they pretty much just taste like pure sugar though.

Lina's fave--strawberries!

Catch 22

So, it seems there is a catch 22 when a husband buys you something fragile, like say, a digital camera.
He is, (perhaps rightfully,) concerned that I will not be gentle enough when taking the memory stick out of the camera to upload the photos, that I have to wait for him to do it.
What's so think he's Dad.
And what's so Aimee be all clumsy my whole life, men never trust me to do anything technical.
I have some cute little pictures of the kids eating Japanese snacks on "girls day" (hinamatsuri) & also a not so cute picture of the strawberry pie the kids & I made for Mac's birthday.
The Pie crust was a little too flaky for a nice photo, but Mac was happy with the pie. I have to say it was my first time making a gelatin based pie where you do not bake the filling, only cool it. --And was terribly impressed!!
Will post recipe if U are interested!
