Summer Stuff

We went to Chiba to visit friends & went to the big zoo there. On the way back we stopped at the beach. Yesterday we went to Toshimaen pools & amusement park.

In a few days we'll be going to Kobe to visit Grandma. It has been a very hot eventful summer. Enjoy the pics.

20 weeks on thursday (that's half way!!!!)

Probably my favorite thing about pregnancy-- & I've had to think real hard-- is when the baby first starts moving & you know it's definitely not gas. Finally all the barfing seems sorta worth it & the extra kilos & having to wear maternity/"large" people's clothes takes on some meaning. It's so cute feeling a little kick or nudge & no matter how many times I get pregnant (???), I'll still smile when I first feel those movements (& when I don't feel them for a few hours I start preparing the miscarriage explanation for the kids.) Anyway though, I love those baby kicks.
(But soon after awhile, it gets a little painful & you wonder how a whole soccer team got inside your belly.)

I wonder if it's normal to want to sleep about 10 hours a day. I thought the tiredness was just partial to the first trimester. Anyone know?

Monday, July 09, 2007

Well, we are counting the days til summer holidays for the kids. We have a few plans & they all involve cold water. Except I don't have a maternity bathing suit. Hopefully my 2 piece with the "modesty" cover-dress will still fit. I'm not that fat yet. (wish)
The hardest thing these days is finding clothes that fit. I found a pair of nice maternity pants in the recycle shop for real cheap.
The baby is moving now sometimes. At first I wasn't sure if it was my tummy turning to digest food, or gas (Pumba, with you everything is gas!), but I think it is really the baby. No major kicking yet though, only once, I guess baby was facing a certain way.
So far I decline when people ask me if they can touch my tummy & I say wait until the baby is bigger that way I know you are touching the baby & not just my tummy fat.
So, we will try to take lots of pictures this summer & post them soon.

Gotta hate Summers in Tokyo

I'm pregnant too, but it's just really getting hot. These Japanese summers that I loathe never seem to grow on me. I'm just lusting after a cool vacation at a nice beach where the kids can play in the water & where I stay in my hotel room all day eating cold fruits. (--Dream on!)
Anyway, so whenever I'm bored of not cleaning the house I go & look at every one's blogs for a little entertainment. I get really annoyed when people don't update their blogs & the post just stays the same for days or weeks. But then again, my boring little salsa post was the front page of my blog for a very long time.
Well, I'm almost 16 weeks so hopefully I will be totally better soon. I can't wait for the day when I don't have to conjure up frequent meals & I will be satisfied with breakfast, lunch & dinner like everybody else. I don't want to say I'm not sick anymore cos every time I do, the next day I'm as sick as a dog.
Well I hope this time some doctor will be smart enough to tell if my baby is a boy or girl. It's hard to plan when you don't really know. Anyway, I still have ages to go.................

Aimee's Salsa

Probably Julie's Raul would laugh at my recipe, but here is the way I make fresh salsa.

Chop & Plop the following together in no particular order:

Finely chopped onions
Chopped tomatoes
Chopped Chives
Chopped Jalapenos (Jarred kind)
Chopped fresh coriander leaves (cilantro)
lemon juice
salt
(I pour in some of the Jalapeno juice from the jar- it's kind of vinegary)

I think that's it. Yummy

Update

Well, I survived the first trimester. I feel pretty decent most of the day until 5pm provided I don't go too long without eating. I'm still tired/lazy esp about doing dishes cuz I hate hot water on my hands (makes me sick), but I've pretty much toned down my carbonated drink need.

I got a sonogram last week & it was very clear. You could see the whole shape of the head & tummy & butt & I could even see the baby moving her/his little leggies. It was so cute.

I've been craving (Mexican) salsa so I made my own & put it on everything. I seem to be able to handle spicy foods now.

My tummy sticks out & It's kind of embarrassing cuz I'm only 3 months, I look fat & have to wear my maternity clothes already.

Well, we just up & went to Disney Sea

I had a wedding nearby, so after I took the kids to Disney Sea. We got the after 6 passes. This is the best time to go & not crowded so we went on quite a few rides in a short amount of time.

There was one roller coaster I probably should not have gone on since I'm pregnant but, everything else was not too bumpy & I didn't get sick, thanks to the caramel & chocolate popcorn we ate all night.

Here are some pics.

Yeah, I guess Mac's a rock star.

Thanks Dad, for the pic.

The Birdies Birthday

I don't know if it's weird to celebrate your pets birthday but the kids really wanted to celebrate our birdies 1st birthdays.
We got them some special birdie seed treats & a cuddle bone.
(end of boring post)

She reverts back to babyhood

I got out my old suitcase of some baby stuff that used to belong the girls when they were babies. Leila just loved the bottle & said she wanted to feed the new baby when it's born. I told her to practice on her dolly. After awhile she said she wanted to drink out of it too, so she did. Here is my big 4 year old with a bottle (!?)
